If you have Amazon Prime then you probably know that it’s Amazon Prime Day July 15-17. Because we just paid a Gi-normous credit card bill due to a graduation party and gift, a trip to Europe, all the stuff I wanted for traveling in Europe, etc., I’m not shopping for any big ticket items with this sale.
This post contains affiliate links. That means if you follow a link on this page to Amazon and make ANY purchase, I get a small commission. The item doesn’t cost you any more, but you can support this blog. Read my disclosures here.
If I had more disposable income right now, I’d be tempted to get a robot vacuum like this. Because of my pets, my family and my own messy self, my floors are usually in need of cleaning. A robot vacuum is like a dream come true. With the way our thick-coated mutt sheds, I’d have to empty it every day. So there’s that ongoing maintenance. Maybe on Black Friday…
Here’s a deal for something I have and love: the 6 quart Instant Pot is on sale for Prime Day. This one is a newer model with a few more features. I love my Instant Pot for cooking rice, boiling eggs, cooking beans, beef, pork, soup and lots of other things. I wrote about my Instant Pot and offer some recipes in this post. If you aspire to making more meals at home, do yourself a favor and get an Instant Pot.
Does anyone else have the experience of higher thread count sheets not holding up over time? Ever since I bought a thicker queen-size mattress I’ve been going for 500 thread count and above because those sheets feel luxurious. But after a few years of use, the sheets tend to tear, fray or pill. Some lower count sheets I’ve had for more than a decade still wear fine. The wear factor may be attributable to my penny pinching nature. Because I’m a cheapskate, I don’t buy super expensive sheets. At any rate, I’m in the market for a new set of sheets, and I’m purchasing these these 500-count cotton sheets on Amazon Prime Day. When in doubt, I look at price and ratings. Even though I love bargains, I’ll pay a little more for something if it has a much better rating and a reputation for lasting longer.
I’m always looking to get more organized, and I adore my pantry storage set that holds (GF) flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar (why so many sugars?), kosher salt and, yes, cinnamon sugar. I also use large cereal containers for holding bags of other baking items like chocolate chips, raisins and GF oats or bags of rice and soup/dip mixes. Here’s a set on sale for Prime Day and a link to the post where I talk about the ones I use in my pantry.
My last recommendation for Prime Day is to look at the tools. We don’t need many tools around here because we’ve been collecting them for a while. If you don’t have a decent tool collection, there are a few basic sets on sale. Even a DIY newbie understands the need for a hammer, a screwdriver and a set of pliers, and there are a lot of jobs you can do with Youtube and a basic tool set. Also check out the power drills. I’m definitely a power tool novice, but they make so many projects possible. While we were in Kansas doing jobs around Plum Prairie Ranch, I asked the Fix-It Farmer for a ratcheting screwdriver. He didn’t have one in his tool bag, so that’s one I’d like to get, but I’m not seeing a great deal for one on Prime Day.
Sometimes it makes sense to jump in and take advantage of a great sale, other times I need to slow my roll and purchase more thoughtfully.
How about you? Are you going to take advantage of any Prime Day deals?
